Darland Construction Co has been chosen by Magnum Development of Omaha and Shopko to build a new 80,000 square foot store at Marketplace in Council Bluffs, a regional shopping center development located at I-80 and 24th Street. The new building will feature Shopko’s new prototype design and is planned to open in March 2009.

In addition to Shopko, Darland managed the site improvements on the 50 acre project and has begun construction on 120,000 square feet of inline shops. Later this year, Darland will break ground on an additional 30,000 square feet of lifestyle shops for the development.

Shopko will co-anchor Marketplace along with J.C. Penney. In addition to the anchors, inline and retail shops, the development will also include seven outlots for free-standing retailers, restaurants, and banking facilities.

Darland Construction Co. is a full service construction management and design-build firm located in Omaha, Nebraska, competing on both a regional and national scale. While Darland has been in business for over 50 years, forward thinking has kept them at the forefront of the industry.
