Shopko Stores, Inc.'s continued expansion in the Midwest region relied on building a new distribution facility under severe time and budget restraints. Having completed several projects for Shopko, Darland and Carter & Burgess teamed together on this mega warehouse project. The original warehouse project was 410,000 square feet and included a 90,000 square feet of mezzanine area. 

In 2004, Darland was again contracted by Shopko to complete a 138,000 square foot addition to the warehouse and an another 118,000 square feet of mezzanine space. The building features 146 dock doors, 42-foot clear height and is surrounded by over 1 million square feet of exterior paving.
